Learn Online

Due to the circumstances Tocá Rufar got to work and we started to work in order to continue the training that many students miss and for which they have been looking forward. We publish here a new website dedicated exclusively to the Tocá Rufar Orchestra and training. This is available to all who want to enjoy it, at no cost. Those who do not have an instrument at home to practice can purchase a drums or a box at affordable prices in our online store at Toqueufar.pt. Due to current restrictions, deliveries take 3 to 4 days. Good job and a big hug. THIS JOB IS LICENSED WITH A CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE - NON-COMMERCIAL 4.0 INTERNATIONAL ASSIGNMENT
GENERAL NOTES During the study the player must remain relaxed and use the natural swing of the arm to play. The mallet (or mallet) and drumsticks must touch exactly the center of the skin and, at the moment of the touch, the player's hand must hold and "release" then, so that the mallet or drumsticks protrude from the skin and remove the better sound of the instrument. The purpose of these exercises is to work the balance of the notes given by the player in the bass drum, in the drum box or in the timpanão and in a constant pace. Thus, it is intended that the notes given sound identical (with the same volume of sound and the same timbre) regardless of the direction of the movement of the arm or the musical phrase being played. The study must be carried out using a metronome (easy to find on the Internet). Later on, we learn to accentuate certain notes by performing the exercises with score. It is very important that the player keeps an attentive and critical ear in relation to the sound it produces. Stretching on arms and shoulders is recommended when starting each study session.
BOMBO and SNARE DRUM LEVELS 1 and 2
To move to the next level, the player must be able to correctly perform the technical exercises in the suggested tempo, maintaining a perfect balance of notes. The exercises in each section must be performed in sequence with 4, 8 or 16 repetitions each and without stops in the middle. Once a sequence or exercise is learned, the player must practice fixed measure sequences. We find examples in BOMBO - Exercises Level 2 and CAIXA - Exercises Level 1 and 2.

BOMBO CAIXA TIMBALÃO PARADE RHYTHMS

Once the exercises have been carried out, we suggest some rhythms that can be easily applied and played in a parade. It is important to accentuate the strong time (1st and 3rd times) with the left foot, simultaneously with the right hand. In Tocá Rufar, left-handers can play the drum or drum box the other way around, but in the parade, they should not change their step, keeping, like most, the strong time on the left foot.

TOCÁ RUFAR THEMES

Advanced Level The repertoire of the Tocá Rufar Orchestra is very wide and composed of several "Parade Rhythms" and musical themes for percussion, from the simplest to the most complex. Players can train these and write their own rhythms and themes based on ours. Tocá Rufar registers its musical themes at SPA - Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores, but makes all content available free of charge to all interested people.
